We know very little about Manno from his life before coming to the orphanage in the spring of 2011. His behavior when he first arrived (including issues with food and sharing toys) leaves us to believe he had a difficult first couple of years. We are very happy to report that since that time he has shown a constant and steady improvement and adjustment. Manno is learning that there will always be another meal, and that there are enough toys to share with everyone.
When I met him in March he was clearly attached to one of the caregivers at the orphanage. He was appropriately shy and cautious with me but he had a difficult time hiding his sweetness. He has a tender little heart.
Manno is HIV+ but is not requiring ARV’s at this time. He is receiving excellent care where they are continuously monitoring his health, and he will be started on ARV’s if and when it’s necessary.
